SAMMAMISH -- Having an experienced senior quarterback makes life a little bit easier for a head coach. When that quarterback is Eastlake's Ryan Robertson, it can seem downright unfair to the opponent.

On Friday night, Robertson and the Wolves devoured an overmatched Roosevelt defense on the way to a 48-0 victory at Eastlake Stadium.

"I feel really good that we can call a pass play any time we want, 40 or 50 times a game with Ryan back there," Eastlake coach Gene Dales said.

Robertson completed 14 of 16 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns for the Wolves (2-0 overall, 1-0 KingCo). In just two games, he has thrown for almost 600 yards and eight scores.

Six of those scores have dropped into the hands of senior Cory Mackay, who had three more Friday among his six catches for 172 yards. The 6-foot-4 wide receiver was matched up with 5-foot-8 Roughriders defensive backs and had his way with them. Senior wideout Kolby Kemp also added four catches for 97 yards for the Wolves.

The victory sets Eastlake up nicely for a matchup with Woodinville, which, along with defending conference champ Bothell, will likely prove to be the toughest test of the regular season.

"I'm excited to have the challenge we are going to have against Woodinville, knowing that we are capable of being either a passing or a running team," Dales said.

Senior Taylor Lappano, son of Huskies assistant coach Tim Lappano, led the ground attack with 11 carries for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

The Wolves face Woodinville at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell on Thursday night at 7.
